As we are currently in renovation mode at the house I wasn't quite able to track down either of the 2 measuring tapes at the house- the search will continue tonight.
I did manage to actually get on the treadmill for just short of a 1/2 hour at 3.5mph which included a warm-up.
What I'm really excited about: I didn't eat desert!! YAY!! 9 years ago you couldn't pay me to eat deserts or sweets they just didn't interest me, but boy oh boy did that change. LOL Now sweets are one of many weaknesses. Our family has gone from no desert with meals to desert following not only dinner but lunch, OUCH! So, my body is trained to crave sugar after each and every meal (excluding breakfast which is usually sweet anyway). Sugar is a drug and it's addictive, so I'm really excited that I had the will power to actually not eat desert.
It may not seem like a big deal but I honestly can't remember the last meal that wasn't followed by a sweet binge. Besides with the deserts I would eat I'd be ingesting more calories from desert than my entire lunch or dinner!?! crazy
It's suggested that you allow yourself desert no more than once a week- and when you do control the portion size and make sure it's something you REALLY want so that you find it satisfying. Personally, I'd probably hold out for chocolate...mmmmm
